Dutch cheese specialist Royal Hollandia’s lineup of flavored cheeses includes Mediterranean Herb, Black Garlic, Walnut and Very Berry Goat.

That mix fits well with the company’s diverse lineup of wedges, which include Mild Gouda, Mild Goat, Mild Edam, Mild Maasdam, and Beechwood Smoked, said Carlee Corvino, Royal Hollandia associate brand manager.

“Royal Hollandia wheels, balls, and wedges offer a wide variety of products perfect for consumer entertaining.”

Mild Gouda has a mild taste and creamy texture, Mild Maasdam offers a slightly sweet and nutty flavor and Beechwood Smoked cheese is creamy and flavorful, Corvino said.

Royal Hollandia’s best sellers in the flavored category are Mediterranean Herb and Very Berry Goat.

Mediterranean Herb “masterfully merges” the flavor notes of black olives, tomatoes, basil, and garlic, Corvino said.

Demand for flavored cheeses is definitely growing, she added.

“Consumers are having more gatherings and parties now that we’re post-pandemic, and they’re using these cheeses in their cheeseboards, charcuterie boards, etc.”

Trending flavors in the category include herbs, strawberries, garlic, smoked and chili peppers.
