CORAL GABLES, FLA. — Fresh Del Monte Produce’s Del Monte Precious Honeyglow pineapples have received the ‘Overall Food Innovation of the Year’ 2024 Mindful Award.
According to Del Monte, the personal-size pineapple weighs less than two pounds and is extra sweet and radiant.
“Our product development is focused on offering convenient and enjoyable ways for consumers to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into their daily routines – but we also have a major emphasis on sustainability and eliminating food waste,” said Melissa Mackay, Fresh Del Monte’s vice president of marketing in North America. “We are honored to win the 2024 Mindful Award for Precious Honeyglow pineapples because it represents our commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability.”
Source: Del MonteThe Precious Honeyglow is the smaller version of Del Monte’s Honeyglow pineapples, which are also sweeter than traditional pineapples and have a bright golden hue, Del Monte said.
They are grown at specialty farms in Costa Rica and left to mature and ripen naturally for a few extra days before being harvested.
