Hobart Food Prep Equipment’s mixer-grinders are well suited for the high-volume meat processing that takes place in commissary kitchens, said Hasan Amin, product line manager.

Hobart’s MG1532 mixer-grinder, for instance, offers a 150-pound capacity, and the MG2032 has a 200-pound capacity.

“Both have been designed to maximize available labor and production and can mix and grind meat at the same time,” Amin said. “Each has a 7.5 HP grind motor and a 1 HP mix motor, and an ergonomic hopper that allows operators to load and unload product faster and easier.”

The machines’ #32 Stay-Sharp knife and plate, meanwhile, has an alloy construction that holds its edge longer and can be re-sharpened multiple times.

While Hobart is always looking at ways to enhance its technology, its design for meat mixer-grinders has stayed fairly similar for several years, Amin said. Why, after all, change a good thing?

“It provides the consistency, quality and precision our customers have come to expect from our brand and equipment. When they use a Hobart mixer-grinder, they know that they will get the job done right and gain the productivity they need. The demand for meat grinders in commissaries is strong, Amin said. Customers are increasingly looking for fresh food options, which are safe to consume and of high quality. Commissaries, he said, are an integral part of filling demand requirements.
