Clyde’s Donuts
According to Clyde’s Donuts, citing data from Datassential, 65% of millennial consumers are “extremely interested” in seasonal desserts, so at the 2024 International Dairy Deli Bakery Association’s (IDDBA) show June 9-11 in Houston, the company featured its wide range of flavors for all four seasons.
The following are the newest seasonal flavors:
- Summer: Pink Lemonade Cake Donuts, Raspberries & Crème Cake Donuts, and Blueberry Lavender Old Fashioned Donuts
- Fall: Spied Chai Old Fashioned Donuts and S’mores Cake Donuts
- Winter: Hot Chocolate Cake Donuts and Candy Cane Cake Donuts
- Spring: Cream Cheese Red Velvet Cake Donuts and White Iced Heart Donuts with Sprinkles
Clyde’s Donuts said that 57% of consumers are interested in nostalgic flavors, 44% of consumers are indulging in donuts at least once a week or more, 40% of donuts consumed are paired with coffee, and one in five consumers purchase donuts specifically for an after-dinner snack/dessert.
The company also shared there was a 150% increase in spiced donuts in the last four years and the donut category had 52% growth in the last four years, making donuts among the fastest growing desserts.
Cyrus O’Leary’s Mini Pies
Sara Lee’s Cyrus O'Leary's Pie Co. brand has new pie flavors and sizes.
The company said its research has found mini pies are more popular with younger consumers and that consumers of all ages like to have size options to fit their needs.
For instore use, the company offers half pie packaging for its classic size.
The mini cream pies are available in a variety of fun flavors, including Lemon, Tiramisu, Strawberry Shortcake, Banana and Coconut.
The Mini Coconut Cream Pie was a winner at the 2024 American Pie Council’s National Pie Championships.
Superior On Main Seasonal Cookies
Sara Lee also featured an array of seasonal cookie flavors.
Lisa Myers, brand manager of frozen bakery, said the packaging is consistent across all cookie flavors so that instore bakeries can keep Superior On Main cookies stocked at all times on the same shelves, just swapping out the flavors as the new seasons roll over so the display is always new and eye-catching.
