ATLANTA — Fresh meal solutions provider FreshRealm Inc. is expanding in Montezuma, Ga. The company’s plans include renovating a 96,000-square-foot facility.
FreshRealm is a food-as-service company offering an end-to-end platform for fresh food and serves grocery, foodservice, hospitality, direct-to-consumer and medical meals, among others. The company partners with retailers nationwide, including Amazon Fresh, Blue Apron, Everytable, Kroger, Publix, Marley Spoon, Meijer and Walmart.
The company said it will be converting several rooms to meet its fresh meal solutions manufacturing needs.
The rooms include a ready-to-heat room and a ready-to-cook room. The rooms, the company said, will enable the company to produce family and single serve ready-to-heat and ready-to-cook meals for Walmart and Publix.
Lines include eight ready-to-heat lines, four ready-to-cook lines and four meal kit lines, according to the company.
“Montezuma is an excellent location for us to strategically reach the entire US, especially the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast,” said Snow Le, president of FreshRealm. “We are proud to be expanding our operations in Georgia, a state with great fiscal strength and a clear dedication to businesses and communities.”
In 2024, FreshRealm acquired all of the US-based operational assets and supply chain infrastructure from meal kit maker Marley Spoon, in a $24 million deal. As part of the transaction, BistroMD, a ready-to-eat meal provider for weight management, also joined FreshRealm’s portfolio.
In May 2023, FreshRealm also acquired the operational infrastructure of Blue Apron Holdings Inc. for approximately $50 million. That acquisition added two facilities to its operations in Linden, NJ, and Richmond, Calif.
