Kroger has upgraded its top-selling Home Chef Fried Chicken.
It’s now double-breaded and hand-dipped with a signature flavor boasting 18 different spices and a tremendous crunch along with new packaging to prolong crispiness, according to Kroger.
The new breading includes tapioca starch and potato starch, which helps both the hold and crunch of the breading. Garlic, paprika and thyme are among the new spices.
The new packaging is a paper gable box that includes venting holes and a window for freshness and convenience.
Kroger’s fried chicken can be purchased in an 8-piece meal, a la carte or as tenders.
For a decade, Kroger’s Home Chef line has provided customers with not only fried chicken but also other easy, convenient meal solutions to make cooking at home an experience that is simple and delicious, said Dan De La Rosa, Kroger’s group vice president of fresh merchandising.

Over the last 10 years, Home Chef has crafted more than 350 million meals served to 48 states. It has tested and tasted more than 12,000 recipes with 4,500 of those recipes making the customer menu. Home Chef has launched more than 500 products across the Kroger Family of Stores and opened four production and distribution facilities nationwide.
