The newest innovation from Krispy Krunchy Chicken, one of the fastest-growing hot food concepts in the prepared foods business, is a Cajun Chicken Sandwich.

“We’re excited to enter the competitive chicken sandwich landscape by delivering an exceptional product at an extraordinary value. Our customers seek convenient, freshly made, high-quality food, and we proudly provide just that,” said Jim Norberg, president of Krispy Krunchy Chicken. “We are committed to establishing Krispy Krunchy as the ultimate destination for your favorite fried chicken. As we like to say, you either know how good it is or you haven’t tried it.”

The sandwich features an all-white meat breast fillet marinated in Krispy Krunchy’s mild Cajun spices, coated in its proprietary breading, topped with signature honey sauce, two pickles and all served on a warm brioche bun. It retails for a suggested $4.99 in most locations.

Sous vide for easier fried chicken

New for fried chicken applications from Hormel is Hormel Flash 180, a sous vide-style chicken breast that helps retail foodservice and other channels create easy to-prepare, consistent fried chicken that can increase productivity and profitability without compromising flavor or value, according to the company.

“We understand that time is money, and in the kitchen, you don’t have either to spare. With Flash 180 Battered Sous Vide Chicken, Hormel Foods is the first to bring you easy to-prepare, consistent chicken that helps increase productivity and profitability, without compromising flavor or value — all in approximately 3 minutes.”

The product ships 10 breasts per pack, three packs to a case.

An easier way to order deli/prepared

FoodStorm, Instacart’s order management system that helps streamline retailers’ food service, perimeter offerings and catering operations, is rolling out across Save Mart and Lucky stores.

FoodStorm and Caper Cart customers can now place orders for made-to-order items like fried chicken or custom cakes and pies directly on the Caper Cart screen while they shop, and receive a notification once it’s ready for pickup, providing an effortless, in-store ordering experience.
