East Coast grocery chain Cherry Valley Marketplace is recalling instore bakery cupcakes that may contain undeclared milk allergens.
West Hempstead, New York-based Cherry Valley issued a recall Sept. 12 of its 12-ounce packages of Cherry Valley Vanilla Cupcakes and Cherry Valley Chocolate Cupcakes. The products were distributed to stores in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut; have expiration dates of 9/20 and 9/30; and are marked with barcodes #00004961147 and #00004961130.
The recall followed routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which found the presence of undeclared milk allergens in packages of Cherry Valley Vanilla Cupcakes.
As of Sept. 12, no illnesses or allergic reactions had been traced to the affected products.
