Retail grocery giant Albertsons is unveiling a new store concept that puts retail foodservice front and center.

Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons expects to open one of its new Market Street Idaho stores this summer and a second later in the year.

The stores will feature instore restaurant-style food courts, scratch bakeries and other value-added and gourmet offerings, according to the company.

“Market Street Idaho was created by a team of passionate, innovative food lovers with the goal of igniting Idaho’s passion for great food and elevated experiences,” says Susan Morris, Albertsons’ executive vice president and chief operations officer. “We think the time is right to bring new culinary experiences many hunger for but haven’t gotten locally through out Market Street Idaho stores.”
