Wegmans is ranked 11th on People magazine's "50 Companies That Care" list. The rankings represent feedback from more than 4.5 million employees.

"When we care about each other, help our customers and give back to the communities where we operate, everything else seems to fall into place," says Colleen Wegman, the company's president and CEO.

People partnered with Great Place to Work, a global analytics and consulting firm, to analyze employees' survey feedback on how their workplaces make a difference in their lives and communities.

Popular c-store retailer QuikTrip and supermarket retailers Nugget Market — both lauded for the foodservice operations — took the final two spots of the 50-company list.
