About half of online shoppers plan to purchase groceries online more often in 2019, and more are purchasing instore bakery, deli and prepared items, according to a new study.
Lake Success, New York-based Retail Feedback Group also found that Amazon is the top-rated online grocer for overall satisfaction, followed by Walmart and a category dubbed “Supermarkets/Food Stores.”
Purchase of deli meats and cheeses online rose 50 percent compared to last year at the same time, bakery was up 36 percent and prepared foods and meals were up 27 percent.
Boomers are the most satisfied with their online grocery options, followed by Gen X and millennials.
