Wisconsin cheesemakers took home 24 awards at the World Cheese Awards in Bergen, Norway.

Winners included a Major Winner awards and a top honor in the Best Vintage Cheddar category, according to a story on www.tmj4.com.

Roth Cheese won seven awards, Sartori Cheese six awards, Carr Valley Cheese four awards, Marieke Gouda three awards, Deer Creek Cheese two awards, V&V Supremo Foods, Inc. one award and Ponderosa Dairy Products one award.

Deer Creek's Imperial Buck received the Major Winner award. 

Wisconsin won about a quarter of the awards given to the U.S. cheesemakers, according to the story.
