GIANT Food Stores is now known as The GIANT Company, which GIANT says better highlights the role the company, its stores and team members have played in the lives of customers since 1923.
In the company’s almost 100-year tenure, GIANT has evolved from a two-man butcher shop to an omni-channel retailer that offers services beyond groceries—grocery delivery and pickup, catering, instore pharmacy, nutrition education and on-site fuel stations.
“For us, food and families go hand in hand and as we look to our future, we wanted to make sure our name reflects all we aspire to be as an omni-channel retailer,” says Nicholas Bertram, president, The GIANT Company. “We are proud of the role our brand has played in connecting millions of families, and as The GIANT Company, we will continue to passionately serve our customers and communities for a better future.”
The new name also comes with a new logo which will be reflected in the GIANT family of brands—GIANT, MARTIN’s, GIANT Heirloom Market, GIANT DIRECT and MARTIN’S DIRECT. The company intentionally designed the new logo to insert a leaf into the letter ‘A’ to signify GIANT’s commitment to growth and freshness.
The new logo can now be seen on the exterior of The GIANT Center, a multi-purpose arena near the company’s headquarters in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and will incrementally be rolled out in all operations.
