As the coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads throughout the country and Americans have seen their lives upended, retail bakeries are among the countless businesses that have found it difficult to adjust. Many are staying open and finding unique ways to keep revenue coming in during these economic hardships, but many have also closed.
The Baking Industry Foundation (BIF) is looking to help these businesses in their time of need. The organization has partnered with the Retail Bakers of America (RBA) to raise money for the 2020 Bakery Relief Fund.
BIF and RBA together plan to provide a program that would allow retail bakers from across the country to apply for grants that will help with building expenses, employee expenses and expenses to help get their doors open again.
The two organizations are asking for help from the public to support the Bakery Relief Fund, with no donation too small and every dollar counting towards making an impact on the future of the baking industry and the livelihood of bakery owners and their employees.
The Baking Industry Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization which means all donations are tax deductible. Visit the BIF website for more information.
