CARLISLE, PENN. - The GIANT company aims to increase its team by nearly 10% through hiring an additional 3,000 employees to meet surging demand for groceries as the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues. The new hires will be added on top of 4,000 temporary workers GIANT has already added to its team recently.
The company is hiring multiple instore positions, as well as fulfillment center selectors and drivers to support GIANT Direct, the grocer’s online grocery service that offers pickup and delivery.
Over the past two months, GIANT has seen the demand for online grocery services continually increase. To meet the demand, the grocer is adding order capacity and increasing time slots for GIANT Direct. Digital enhancements and an app are also being rolled out soon to further support online customers.
“At The GIANT Company, our purpose is to connect families for a better future, and our mission is more vital now than ever before,” said Matthew Lutcavage, vice president of human resources of The GIANT Company. “We’re committed to serving our communities and customers during this extraordinary time while helping our neighbors who are looking for work.”
