ST. LOUIS – The Center for Plant-based Living (CPBL) is offering a virtual jackfruit cooking class on Sept. 9 that will teach attendees how to use jackfruit as a plant-based protein substitute in various recipes including pulled ‘pork’ jackfruit nachos, plant-based BBQ ribs and Teriyaki jackfruit sushi.
The class will be led by Caryn Dugan, who began teaching cooking classes in 2008 when she was diagnosed and treated for cancer. Since then she has been growing her business and last year opened CPBL in St. Louis.
Dugan has strong ties with Forks Over Knives, The Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and the Plantrician Project. She plans to host more classes on various plant-based food topics over the coming weeks and months.
The class will be held on Zoom from 5 – 7 p.m. CDT on Sept. 9. Registration can be found here, and costs $30.
