FAIRFIELD, N.J. — Fourth-generation cheesemaker Schuman Cheese set a record at the US Championship Cheese Contest as the first brand to sweep a whole category, according to the company.
In the Parmesan category, Schuman won first place with its Organic Copper Kettle Parmesan and second through fifth place with its Cello products.
The company’s Cello cheeses also received awards in the Mascarpone, Asiago, Romano, Semi-Soft, Soft, Hard and Flavored categories.
“We are deeply honored to once again receive this level of recognition across multiple categories in an esteemed industry contest,” said Christophe Megevand, master cheesemaker at Schuman Cheese. “I want to thank the Lake Country Dairy team for their hard work and craftsmanship.
