CARLISLE, PA. — The GIANT Co. has released its second annual Community Impact Report, which outlines its social responsibility efforts from 2022.
The report’s focus is on “connecting families for a better future."
“For nearly 100 years, The GIANT Company has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our team members, our customers and our communities,” said John Ruane, interim president. “Our impact report illustrates how our purpose of connecting families for a better future has come to life over the last year and is proof of the incredible impact we can have when we work together to create a better tomorrow for all.”
Four highlights from The GIANT Company Community Impact report
- The GIANT Co. invested nearly $19 million in more than 300 community organizations working toward eliminating hunger, changing children’s lives, healing the planet and fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- The company’s employees logged around 50,000 community volunteer hours — almost 15,000 more than the original goal.
- The company’s dietitians served more than 55,000 customers through virtual wellness classes, sharing healthy, affordable meal options.
- The company partnered with more than 130 local vendors and 170 certified diverse-owned suppliers to provide communities with fresh, local and culturally appropriate products while building local economies.
