NEW YORK — At the Specialty Food Association’s Summer Fancy Food Show June 25-27, Sonoma, Calif.-based Laura Chenel shared samples of its newest goat cheese flavor.
The Mango Habanero Goat Cheese launched in the spring and comes in 4-ounce fresh logs.
Kelley Levin, marketing communications manager at Laura Chenel, described the flavor as “mango forward” with a “habanero kick at the end.”
“Use it to spice up anything from chili to cheesecake, crumble it on fish tacos, or use it in place of feta or cream cheese in your favorite recipes,” the company said.
Laura Chenel’s website features a recipe for Carne Asada Tacos with Mango Habanero Goat Cheese, among other savory and dessert recipe inspiration.
Levin said the cheese pairs particularly well with Mexican-style lager and dark chocolate.
The new flavor was made in collaboration with the Culinary Institute of America.
