Healthy Family Project hosts reception at 2025 Southern Exposure

ORLANDO, FLA. — The Healthy Family Project held its annual Thank You Reception at the Southeast Produce Council (SEPC)’s Southern Exposure March 6-8.

The reception celebrated the more than $260,000 raised for Feeding America foods banks, Foundation for Fresh Produce, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

According to the Health Family Project, this year’s fundraising brought its total since 2002 to more than $8 million.

"For over two decades, this event has been a testament to the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change,” said John Shuman, president of Shuman Farms and founder of Healthy Family Project. “Thanks to our incredible partners, we continue to inspire healthier eating habits while giving back to the communities we serve."

2024 retail partners including Publix Super Markets, Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) Springfield Division, Coborn’s and Lowes Food Stores were recognized at the reception.

Healthy Family Project also held a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida at the reception.

Carrot and pea-themed earrings and pins, designed by Anne Marie Roerink of 210 Analytics, were available with a “name your price” donation. The earrings and pins raised nearly $400, the organization said.

Next, Healthy Family Project is launching its dietician-focused digital campaign Mission for Nutrition this month, and its Back to School with Healthy Family Project initiative will begin August 2025.
