The agency discovered the problem during routine inspection activities where Listeria monocytogenes were found on surfaces where the product came into contact.
The facility is expected to cultivate mycelium for use in chicken-style cutlets and steak-style fillets at an annual rate of tens of millions of pounds by late 2023.
Numbers from the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the US Department of Agriculture showed that about 25,300 birds were affected by the outbreak.
